Freedom to Read Display: Deconstructing the History of Crime Comics in Canada

February 26 to March 4, 2017

Comic books, graphic novels and manga collections are especially popular among young adult readers in public libraries today, despite the controversial historic regulation of the genre of “crime comics” in America and Canada. The library will display historic and contemporary examples of crime comics and encourage a lively discussion of the controversy surrounding them throughout the week.
