Freedom To Read Week at Douglas College

February 24 to March 2, 2019

All day

What if you were told you couldn’t read that book? What if you were told you couldn’t read Fahrenheit 451 or The Great Gatsby or The Hunger Games or Harry Potter because they have been challenged and officially banned? What would you do? From February 24th to March 2nd, the Library is celebrating Freedom to Read Week! Freedom to Read Week is an annual event that encourages Canadians to practice their right to read and their right to intellectual freedom. Find our more information on the website. Our book displays at both campus libraries will be filled with books that have been challenged and banned. Show your support by signing out one (or two or more!)
